About Hair Loss
Hair loss is a sensitive issue that effects nearly 50% of women. For many, the effects of hair loss are irreversible and progressive.
While there are many causes of hair loss often the cause is genetic or health related. Stress, medication, and lifestyle can also be factors in hair loss.
For some, hair loss is temporary and can be remedied by addressing the underlying cause but most often the results of hair loss are permanent.
Some of the common types and causes of hair loss are listed below. It is important to consult a physician to better understand what could be causing your hair loss as it's a complex and unique situation for every person.

Female Pattern Hair Loss
Also known as androgenetic alopecia in women, causes thinning primarily on top of crown and scalp. It is often hereditary and can be influenced by hormonal changes.
Alopecia
Autoimmune condition that results in inflammation and loss of hair. It is caused by the immune system attacking hair follicles. Most commonly on scalp but other areas of the body can also be affected. Alopecia areata starts with circular bald patches that may overlap. Traction alopecia caused by repetitive prolonged tension on hair follicle.
Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia
Scarring alopecia that primarily effects postmenopausal women. Characterized by a progressive symmetrical band of hair loss at front of scalp. Follicles are permanently destroyed and replaced with scar tissue. Cause is unknown though it's thought to be autoimmune and have hormonal component.
Trichotillomania
Hair pulling disorder, most common in teens and young adults. Cause is unknown but is linked to stress and anxiety. Imbalances in brain chemicals can contribute to the impulse control disorder.
Telogen Effluvium
Temporary hair loss that typically occurs after stress, trauma, or shock causes more hair to enter the resting phase and fall out.
Shedding is most noticeable during washing and brushing. Recovery often occurs naturally with density returning to normal in 6-9 months.
Experiences that may trigger telogen effluvium are: illness, surgery, extreme weight loss, emotional distress, medications.
Hair Loss Solutions
With so many women sharing this experience it's important to discover solutions, share stories, and build community so no woman feels alone or ashamed of their hair loss.

My goal is to help women rebuild their confidence and erase insecurities around their hair by providing them solutions for their hair loss.
Some solutions may be to suppress loss and/or restore hair growth through supplements and topical treatments, while other solutions may involve replacing lost hair or covering the effected area.
Below are descriptions of the solutions I currently offer. I am always searching for new solutions to add so I can continue to support more women through their hair loss journey.
The Microline
Designed to cover the top of the head where extensions cannot go. Ideal to replace thinning hair and cover visible scalp in the crown while also adding density to your ends.
This hand made breathable open mesh topper is made with beautiful high quality human hair meaning it can be washed, styled, and colored. The Microline comes in a variety of colors with the option to be permed.
It is available in 3 lengths; 20cm, 30cm, and 40cm.
Additional customization options are available as needed.
The Microline lasts up to 2 years with the option to "refresh". A refresh involves replacing missing hair that has naturally shed during wear. Each piece is custom colored and cut to match your bio hair.
Initial installation takes about an hour plus additional time to cut and style.
The Microline is attached to hair by bonding bio hair to a polymer bonding ring, or by using my unique preferred bead method.
The attachments of this solution allows you to go on all life's adventures while wearing your piece. You can exercise, swim, go boating, or even ride a rollercoaster without your topper coming off!
The Microline requires monthly in-salon maintenance to "tighten" as your hair grows. Daily home care includes proper brushing and integrating your hair by pulling it through the mesh with a crochet hook (don't worry, it's easier than it sounds!).
The Microline can and should be washed and styled like your own hair.
Crown Collection
Clip-On Topper
High quality human hair lace topper with clips that allow it to be worn and taken off as needed. Custom colored and cut to blend with your hair.
No in-salon maintenance required. Minor home care such as brushing and washing as needed.
Because this topper is clipped on it is not ideal for all activities. It is not recommended to swim, exercise, or sleep in your crown clip-on topper.
